Try this next time you make the kids do chores

With everyone being at home more now than ever, mom and dad would love some help around the house.

We see value is delegating chores at home and no age is too young. Whether it is cleaning up toys after playtime, clearing the table after dinner, doing dishes or taking the trash out... everyone can give a hand.

Chores are a great way to practice teamwork, learn responsibility and learn life skills. It also helps us to appreciate the things we have a bit more.

Next time you do chores try this:

Parents, you write 5 chores that you'd like to see done.

Then, Let the kids pick 1 more chore to add to the list.

Roll 2 dice and whatever #'s they land on are the 2 chores that need to be completed that day.

Few things to make it most effective:

Demonstrate how you'd like the chore to be completed.

Make sure the chores are age appropriate.

Post the chores list on the wall or fridge; easy for everyone to see.

Praise immediately after the chore has been completed.

Maybe award a small treat/prize after a set # of chores in a month have been completed.

Getting chores done help children feel a sense of accomplishment and that they were able to contribute to the family.
